St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin, Louisiana, purchased our 33 foot mobile command center with funds granted for a plan to directly support maritime transportation infrastructure security activities.
The mobile command center will be used in partnership with the Morgan City Harbour and terminal District as will the additional vehicles and equipment they were able to purchase with those funds: 2 utility trailers, diving equipment, 2 custom made patrol boats and 2 Ford F-350 trucks.
St Mary Parish is approximately 1,120 square miles, which is slightly smaller than the State of Rhode Island. Of the area patrolled by the Sheriff’s Office and 6 other police departments in the parish, nearly 50% is water.
The mobile command center acts as a valuable communication asset that will allow information to be shared between officers/commanders in the field and a base station or operations center.
