The Fort Jackson Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) is tasked with providing security, law enforcement, fire protection, and community assistance for the soldiers, civilians, retirees, family members, trainees and visitors to the 52,000-acre base.
As the primary emergency response providers for the largest and most active Initial Entry Training Center for the U.S. Army, Fort Jackson’s DES uses a 35 foot length mobile command center, among others, to establish a climate-controlled command center anywhere on post. The mobile command center gives them access to computer and satellite connections and acts as a back up 911 center.
