NYPD drop shipped this Freightliner Sprinter 2500 170-inch wheelbase, extended high-roof van to Mobile Concepts. The Sprinter was delivered with NYPD custom graphics and push bar installed.

Exterior modifications include an NYPD proprietary Whelen and Federal Signal light, siren and speaker package, digital LED message board, four perimeter day/night cameras connected to interior monitoring system, an antenna rail system and a roof-mounted A/C.

Swing-open doors access the rear compartment, which has an Onan 8kw generator with ATS and remote start, 12v battery system and an auto-eject shore power inlet. The three-shelf aluminum rack was designed to accommodate NYPD robots and other specialized items.

The front of the TARU includes controls for the NYPD proprietary Whelen and Federal Signal light, siren and speaker package, including a microphone for the speaker system, and in-dash GPS navigation and backup camera system.

The Black Box equipment rack houses a Kramer 8×4 matrix switch, 4-channel DVR, DVD/Blu-Ray player, all-in-one printer, 8-port switch and pre-wired for customer-supplied radio equipment. Red and white LED lighting are located in ceiling and under overhead cabinets.

Each workstation features 110-volt and 12-volt receptacles, CAT6 and antenna pre-wire. Wall-mounted 32 and 22-inch TVs act as monitors, while overhead aluminum cabinets offer storage. The ceiling and walls are covered with sound-deadening fabric.
