The Merrillville Fire Department Goes #NextGen

Last Wednesday, we put the finishing touches on a #NextGen 35ibed for the Merrillville Fire Department in Merrillville, IN! They’ll be using their new Fire Safety House to educate local children about fire safety and fire prevention. To make this experience memorable for them, this unit is equipped with interactive kitchen and bedroom stages, touchscreen controls, a surround sound system, two 55″ LED monitors, a sliding escape window, an emergency escape ladder, a high volume ventilation system, a remote-controlled smoke machine that uses water-based smoke fluid, and more.
Other features include:
- Life-like oven and stovetop fire simulations
- Educational content for ages Pre-K to 3rd, 4th to 6th, and 7th to 12th graders made by credible sources such as the NFPA and FEMA
- One Nighthawk CO2 detector
- A heated door simulation with electronic temperature display and alarm
- Three roof vents
- One 62×52 Amdor roll up door
- A wifi antenna
