35 Blood / Breath Alcohol Testing

The Blood/Breath Alcohol Testing trailer, also known as a substance abuse testing trailer, is a mobile lab that gives enforcement officers the ability to test for drug or alcohol use.

Fort Riley’s Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) on base in Kansas uses our BAT Mobile to conduct random urine analysis and alcohol testing simultaneously. The samples are collected, tested and stored within the trailer, establishing a secure chain of custody.

The BAT can be taken anywhere, but it is primarily used on post to test at times that are not easily predicted. For example, testing could take place at ranges or during field rotations.

The irregular testing pattern in not meant to “catch” soldiers, but to deter them from the get go. The whole process is more convenient and faster, and it also provides a valuable opportunity for training. While soldiers wait their turn, they can watch videos or listen to audio with informational or preventative messages.
